Earlier, during their campaign in Vellore, Chief Minister Edappadi K Palaniswami and Deputy Chief Minister O Panneerselvam asked what the 38 MPs of the DMK alliance would achieve in the Parliament.

Udhayanidhi while campaigning at Pennathur on the outskirts of Vellore town on Wednesday gave a strong reply to the AIADMK leaders.

He said, that the people were for DMK was seen from this resounding victory which was the response of Tamil Nadu voters to the Narendra Modi government and his slaves in the state government.

The 100-day job scheme introduced by the DMK was not functioning properly as work was given only for 5 days at present, Udhayanidhi said and added that if the DMK comes to power the scheme would be rejuvenated.

He also alleged that the Hogennekal drinking water scheme also introduced by the DMK was almost dysfunctional as water was not supplied to all areas.

He promised that all pending local issues would be settled if DMK candidate Kathir Anand was elected to Parliament.  During his campaign at Saduperi, a young woman climbed on to the bonnet of Udhayanidhi’s vehicle, shook hands, performed aarthi and took a selfie before climbing down.
