In what may provide clarity in the suspicious death of lottery king Martin’s accountant T Palanisamy, the second autopsy has suggested that he was allegedly murdered, sources said on Tuesday.
Advocate Panneerselvam, the counsel for the petitioner, said that the second post mortem report submitted by one of the doctors before the judge has clearly indicated the possibility of murder.
T Palanisamy, who was working as an accountant in the group of companies owned by Martin, was found dead under mysterious circumstances in a pond near Karamadai on May 3. The Coimbatore rural police registered a case of suspicious death and held inquiries, but was clueless on the cause of his death.
Meanwhile, Palanisamy’s son Rohin Kumar moved the Madras High Court seeking a magisterial inquiry, suspecting foul play in the death of his father. Following an order by the High Court, Judicial Magistrate M Ramadhas conducted an inquiry into the case.
A second post mortem was also performed by three doctors in the presence of the Magistrate on May 28. The team also had P Sambath Kumar, a doctor from a private hospital in Chennai, representing the petitioner’s family.
On Tuesday, Sambath Kumar submitted his report in a sealed cover to Magistrate Ramadhas. “We are waiting for two other doctors to submit their individual post mortem reports to decide on our future course of action,” said Panneerselvam.
Meanwhile, Sambath Kumar said that the tests have confirmed that Palanisamy did not drown on his own. “Only police investigations will reveal if he was murdered,” he said.
