Mugilan, who was brought to the court in Karur on Monday, raised slogans against the government and said that the neutrino and hydrocarbon projects, which the people of Tamil Nadu have been opposing, was being thrusted upon the state by the Centre with the help of the state government.
“We are ready to face any number of cases. We will continue to protest the projects which are anti-people. The Centre wants to destroy Tamil Nadu in all ways and the state government is also helping the Centre”, he said.
Stating that both the Centre and State governments have been snatching away the rights of the people, Mugilan said that despite the people of Tamil Nadu have been losing their livelihood, the state government was remaining a mute spectator.
“The government is willingly penalising activists by foisting sedition cases. The government feels that such intimidatory tactics will frighten the activists. But we will never be cowed down by such threats,” he said.
Claiming that the sexual harassment charge against him was a fabrication, he said that he would face the case legally to prove that he was innocent.
