Only leftovers for DMK from AIADMK, replies Jayakumar

AIADMK Minister D Jayakumar on Monday said that the constant efforts by the arch rivals to dislodge the AIADMK government has failed big time. Firing salvos against the DMK leadership for wooing the AIADMK workers, Jayakumar termed those who left the party as leftovers.

“There are workers joining the DMK for their personal gains and I do not want to comment about them. But Stalin’s effort to disrupt the AIADMK will not happen. AIADMK is a fort and opportunists cannot harm us,” Jayakumar said.

Genuine AIADMK cadre will not migrate to the rival DMK. Stalin has been speaking about the regime change for years, but now he is taking about DMK winning 2021 general polls. Stalin’s dream will not materialise and the AIADMK will continue its rule beyond 2021, Jayakumar opined.

“The DMK failed to make any breakthrough in the recent bypolls and they were not able to make any change in the Centre and state. The DMK has a smaller number of workers when compared to the AIADMK and are constantly trying to poach our workers,” AIADMK spokesperson K Sivasankari added that the DMK has weakened under the leadership of Stalin and is trying to build the party by poaching AIADMK workers.

“What is wrong in DMK wooing the AIADMK workers. People are accepting the leadership of DMK president Stalin and several AIADMK leaders have joined the DMK in the recent past. More AIADMK and AMMK workers will join the DMK under the leadership of Stalin,” Thanga Tamilselvan, who recently joined the DMK from AMMK told reporters on Monday. A large group of AIADMK workers in Theni joined the DMK.

AIADMK and AMMK cadre have realised that their leaders are exploiting the party for their personal gains, the Andipatti strongman added.
