No hydrocarbon project, assures Food Minister

Food Minister K Kamaraj on Sunday said that the state is clear that the hydrocarbon project will not be implemented in Tamil Nadu at any cost.

“We are clear in our stand that our government will not allow any anti-people project such as hydrocarbon and methane extraction projects in the state. Our stand had been explained in detail by Chief Minister Edappadi K Palaniswami and Deputy Chief Minister O Panneerselvam, in the Assembly,” said Kamaraj, adding that Law Minister CVe Shanmugham, had given a detailed reply in the Assembly on the issue.


Kamaraj inaugurated several new projects while participating in a Swachh Bharat campaign in Mannargudi. Speaking about the demand of people for a separate district in Mannargudi, Kamaraj said that the demand of formation of new district with Mannargudi as headquarters will be considered by the state government and a good decision will be taken soon.
