SC judgments in vernacular languages: TN govt thanks Centre
Tamil Nadu government has thanked the Centre for the Supreme Court making available judgements in vernacular lanaguages including Tamil, saying it was a "path-breaking" move.

Chief Minister K Palaniswami told Union Law and Justice Minister Ravishankar Prasad that the initiative would go a long way in better understanding of the judgements by the people.
"On behalf of the people of Tamil Nadu, I wish to thank you for the path-breaking initiative of making the Honourable Supreme Court judgments available in Tamil and other vernacular languages," he said in a letter to Prasad dated July 18, released by the state government here Friday.
"This initiative will go a long way in ensuring better understanding of the judgments by the people and bringing them closer to the judicial system," Palaniswami added.
He also requested Prasad to ensure copies of judgments of the Madras High Court are made available in Tamil as well.
