An approximate 7 mm of rainfall was received on Monday evening. Other districts including Thoothukudi, Vellore, Tiruttani, Sivaganga, Kancheepuram and Tiruvannamalai also received rain. During the day, temperatures rose to a maximum of 38.8 degree Celsius respectively at both the weather stations in Meenambakkam and Nungambakkam. For next five days, several parts of Tamil Nadu and Puducherry are expected to receive scattered rainfall.
RMC issued heavy rainfall warning for next 48 hours as thunderstorms and heavy rainfall is likely to occur at isolated places over Tamil Nadu, including Vellore, Tiruvannamalai, Villupuram, Kancheepuram, The Nilgiris, Coimbatore and Madurai.
