Class 10, 12 students can soon register for employment online
The State government has decided to launch an online employment registration system for students of Classes 10 and 12, including those from the CBSE stream.

This would help them avoid standing in long queues at the district employment exchanges. At present online employment registration is being done for students only through their schools.
A senior official from the Directorate of School Education told DT Next that the School Education Department and the Department of Employment have entered into a tie up to launch the special portal option for the students so that they can register their certificates online so as to avoid approaching the employment exchange in person. Those who studied in the CBSE syllabus in Tamil Nadu can also use this option, the official said.
Experts from State Information Technology Department have been entrusted the task of creating this separate website option, using which students can register themselves at any time, he added.
“The students have to register themselves by creating a login. Then they need to upload their mark sheets on the website through easy options,” he said, adding that they should also upload their Aadhaar card and community certificate before producing other documents.
Noting that the students have to stand in lengthy queues in front of the district employment offices at present to register themselves, the official said the online mode was introduced to save time and effort.
In addition to the registration, students could also update their profile through the renewal option at any time, he said.
“Once the online registration is completed, the students will receive an alpha and numeric employment registration identity that can be printed,” the official explained.
The official said the acknowledgment and employment registration number will also be sent to the student’s email address and thereafter will receive alerts on renewal dates.
“They will continue to have the option to register through schools,” he added.
