Centre denying job for TN youth: DMK
Principal opposition DMK has strongly condemned the Centre for issuing a circular that competitive exams of postal department would henceforth not be conducted in regional languages.
Chennai
DMK president MK Stalin has urged the department to immediately recall the circular and drop the move which denies Tamil youths an opportunity to land jobs in Central departments. Stalin advised postal department to act in conformity with the linguistic plurality acknowledged in the Constitution.
Expressing anguish at BJP led Central government for acting with a wily intention, the DMK president said the denial of job opportunity to Tamil youths in Central institutions at the all-India level was the manifestation of the deceit of the Centre, which had compelled the AIADMK regime in the State to absorb north Indians in Tamil Nadu electricity board.
Recalling the infamous postal recruitment scam of 2015 in which the ruling BJP is yet to act, Stalin said that in preventing youths from taking tests in Tamil, the Centre has led people to suspect if the it was digressing from the path of national integration and instigating division among the people.
It is condemnable that the ruling BJP was attempting to create confusion by revising the recruitment rules to deny opportunity in Central establishments to not only Tamil Nadu youths but also other non-Hindi speaking states, Stalin added. He added that he would consult the party advocates to explore the legal remedies available on the issue. Meanwhile, State Congress President KS Alagiri also cautioned that the BJP would face drastic consequences if it attempts to thrust Hindi on Tamil Nadu.
