While this is applicable to candidates applying for ayurveda, unani, siddha and homoeopathy courses, yoga and naturopathy are exempted.
Though the Centre had made NEET mandatory for admissions to AYUSH courses in the previous year, States, including Tamil Nadu, protested and admissions were done based on Class 12 marks.
The State Health Department officials under the Directorate of Indian Medicine and Homoeopathy stated that the admissions to the Bachelor of Naturopathy and Yogic Science Medical Degree will be based on the aggregate marks scored in science subjects.
There are 60 seats available at the Government Yoga and Naturopathy Medical College and seven self-financing colleges. The application along with prospectus is available at the Government Yoga and Naturopathy Medical College between 10 am to 5 pm on all working days up to July 19. The last date to submit applications is July 22, a notification by the selection committee said.
