Cuddalore Collector donates Rs 25,000 for desilting of pond

“You are the torch bearer of our society and play a role model to others by spending your valuable time in reviving the waterbodies for the welfare of the people,” Cuddalore district collector Anbuselvan who is the native of Nadiyam village near Peravurani said after handing over a contribution of Rs 25,000 to the volunteers.

The volunteers from Peravurani began to raise funds to revive Periyakulam pond spread across 550 acres which has been lying abandoned for several decades. On Thursday, Anbuselvan who had heard of the work the volunteers were doing, visited them and lauded their work.
