The actors are reportedly under the scanner of Telangana police and Chennai police. Vanitha was approached in connection with the kidnap of her eight-year-old daughter. The police said that an inspector, a woman constable and a human rights activist reached the sets with the Nazarethpet police under whose jurisdiction the EVP film city where the sets for the reality show has been erected. Police sources said that the Telangana police could not meet Vanitha as she was not supposed to step out of the ‘house’ of Bigg Boss.

Sources said that arrangements were made for the police to meet Vanitha’s daughter and the police team came to the sets on Wednesday evening. “The team reached the sets around 5.30 pm and spoke to Vanitha’s daughter. She allegedly told Cyberabad police that she wants to stay with her mother and did not want to meet her father. At the end of the inquiry, the police team left the premises around 6.40 pm,” said police sources.

The father of the child is Vanitha’s second husband Anandraj, a businessman of Andhra Pradesh native. However, she divorced him due to differences. Since Vanitha decided to live with another person, Anandraj approached the Madras High Court seeking the custody of their daughter and she was handed over to him.

However, the girl who went to school on February 8 went missing and Anandraj later found that it was Vanitha who brought her to Chennai. The police said that the girl was with Vanitha since February, but this came to light on the first day of Bigg Boss when the participant brought her two daughters to the show to get blessings from Kamal Hassan. Anandraj, who spotted his daughter on TV, alerted the local police. He had also accompanied the police to the Bigg Boss sets on Wednesday. According to the police, Vanitha’s daughter had been in the custody of a caretaker since the show began.

Meanwhile, the Teynampet police have summoned Meera, another contestant of Bigg Boss, in connection with a petition submitted at city police commissionerate by a woman named Ranjitha from Teynampet. Ranjitha had stated in her petition that Meera cheated her and several models after collecting entry fee for a fashion show.

Meera allegedly did not conduct the show and refused to reimburse the money. While she has been asked to appear before the police before July 19, she has sought an extension and is expected to meet the police once she is out of the show.

Police visit notto be aired on TV

If Bigg Boss viewers are anticipating to watch the police entering the sets to inquire Vanitha, here is a disappointing update. Since the show would feature only what transpires inside the house, the next episode will not have any dramatic entry of the police as they stayed only outside the sets for the inquiry. “Vanitha did not step out of the house to meet the police. Her daughter also met police only outside the sets,” said a police official.
