Water, agriculture priority for new Vellore Collector

Interacting with the media, the new collector, A Shanmugasundaram said efforts would be taken to ensure that the benefits of central and State government schemes reach all eligible beneficiaries in the district and agriculture related activities would be given main priority in the district.

Referring to the water scarcity where the town and district are facing heavy shortage, due to dearth in rainfall, he assured that efforts are made to ensure that people are not affected by the water crisis. Soon after taking over, Shanmugasundaram participated in the weekly grievances redressal meeting but soon left to welcome Kerala Governor P Sadasivam.
