Thanga Tamilselvan denies reports of joining DMK or AIADMK
AMMK leader and former Andipatti MLA Thanga Tamilselvan on Wednesday maintained that he would not join the ruling AIADMK or the rival DMK and has no plans to retire either. He also hinted that he was planning to meet jailed AMMK leader VK Sasikala soon, again triggering fresh speculation on his political future.

“There is no invitation for me to join the AIADMK or DMK. There is no truth in the reports that ministers P Thangamani and S P Velumani are in touch with me,” the former MLA told reporters here. “I am tired after working tirelessly for the elelctions and need some rest now. I am not retiring from politics either,” the beta noire of AIADMK leader O Panneerselvam said.
Pointing out that the AMMK is yet to be registered as a political party, he claimed that he had no qualms about getting expelled. “I lost my MLA post and have worked for the party for the past two years. My views have not been accepted by the party leadership and this misleading leadership caused the recent poll debacle,” Selvan said, adding that he had only demanded more transparency in the party and self-introspection over the poll debacle. He claimed that a major reason for the party’s drubbing in the recent polls was due to the leadership deviating from the objective of reclaiming the AIADMK and the Two Leaves.
When contacted, senior AMMK leader V Pughazenthi said Thanga Tamil Selvan was a closed chapter in AMMK. When asked about the Andipatti politician hoping to meet jailed AMMK leader V K Sasikala, Pughazenthi said any one can wish to meet Chinnamma (Sasikala), but it depends on whether she grants them an audience or not.
