Arumugaswamy panel extended for four months

According to sources, retired Justice Arumugasamy had sought time till October 24 for the submission of final report on the probe into the death of Jayalalithaa, and the government had agreed for the time extension. The orders will be passed soon, said sources. The Arumugaswamy commission was appointed by the State government following the demand of Deputy CM O Panneerselvam who raised suspicion on the death of Jayalalithaa and placed it as one of the conditions for his then faction to merge with that led by CM Palaniswami.
