VCK chief asks Centre to solve state’s water woes
VCK leader Thol Thirumavalavan on Sunday said that there is water crisis in the state and the Centre should take responsibility to solve the crisis.

Addressing reporters, while participating in the human chain protest against hydrocarbon extraction scheme in Cuddalore, Thirumavalavan said, “The Centre should not be a silent spectator in the drinking water crisis that is haunting the state and they should allot special funds for handling drinking water supply issue.” Thirumavalavan along with former health minister MRK Panneerselvam and Tamizhaga Vazhvurimai Katchi leader Velmurugan, participated in the human chain protest in Cuddalore.
Thirumavalavan in the protest said that drinking water shortage has become a burning issue in the state and especially in Chennai, people are pushed to the corners to get water.
Blaming the state for the ongoing water crisis, Thirumavalavan said, “Proper preventive measures were not taken by the state government to handle drinking water crisis and the state should hold responsibility for the current drinking water shortage.” He also said that when Tamil Nadu MPs, including himself, tried to raise the issue of drinking water crisis in the state in the Parliament, they were not given enough time to speak about theissue.
