Inaugurating a party office at Ariyankuppam constituency here, Saminathan said that for instance the central government scheme of “Ayushman Bharath” has been implemented in all other states across the country. However, the Union Territory government here had failed to implement the same till date depriving the poor their right for proper treatment.

If the scheme was implemented, thousands of poor patients in Puducherry could get a cover for Rs 5 lakh a year and avail Super Specialty treatment with it.

He said the BJP has started to collect applications from the public seeking to implement the scheme here and submitting it to the health department. More than 5,000 applications were collected from Lawspet constituency and submitted to the health department, Saminathan said. The BJP MLA called upon the party volunteers to collect applications from Ariyankuppam constituency and later from all other segments in Puducherry union territory to submit to the health department, which would force the government to implement the same here. He also exhorted the party volunteers to strive hard for the implementation of all other central government schemes here for the benefit of the people which would help the BJP to win the 2021 assembly election in the UT.
