Eight school students injured as truck hits auto in Madurai
Ten persons, including eight students, suffered injuries after the auto-rickshaw in which they were travelling collided with a truck near Usilampatti in Madurai district on Wednesday.

Among the injured in the incident that occurred at Rangasamypatti village in Madurai were two pedestrians who suffered minor injuries and were being treated as out-patients in a hospital.
The incident occurred whenauto-rickshaw driver Vivek picked up a student at Rangasamypatti bus stop after proceeding from Karampatti and was taking a turn on the road.
The truck driver, while coming from the opposite side of the road, reportedly lost control of the vehicle and hit the auto-rickshaw.
The 108-emergency services ambulance then took the injured to the Usilampatti Government Hospital. Except for two people, who suffered bruises to their heads, the other injured were referred to Madurai Government Rajaji Hospital.
However, the condition of the injured is reported to be stable and out of danger.
The injured were students of high and higher secondary schools in Usilampatti.
Based on a complaint lodged by auto-rickshaw driver Vivek, the Elumalai police have filed a case under Sections 279 and 337 of the IPC, sources said.
