State government should emulate Israel in resolving water crisis: Tamilisai
With the State struggling due to a severe shortage of drinking water, AIADMK’s alliance partner, the BJP has joined Opposition party leaders in demanding the government to take urgent steps to resolve the problem.
Chennai
State BJP president Tamilisai Soundararajan on Tuesday said the State government should take inspiration from Israel and resolve the prevailing water crisis.
Addressing newspersons at the city airport here, Tamilisai said, “Tamil Nadu is facing a severe water scarcity. It is time for the government to study new water supply models as implemented in Israel. Mobile desalination plants were set up there.”
“The government should take steps on a war footing as people are suffering for want of drinking water. In the past, I have said the government should examine alternate means for supplying water,” said Tamilisai.
When asked about the comments of DMK president M K Stalin, on the failure of the State government to provide water, she replied that Stalin does not have any right to speak about the water shortage problem in Tamil Nadu.
