    Tamil Nadu Chief Minister, Edappadi K. Palaniswamy will consult officers on Monday to combat the drinking water crisis in Tamil Nadu.

    Several parts of Tamil Nadu have been suffering from drought since the beginning of this summer. Chennai, in particular, is facing immense drinking water crisis, forcing numerous business premises, IT companies and hostels to shut down temporarily or grant work from home option to their employees.

    As the lakes that provide drinking water are dried up, people are forced to fetch water from agricultural wells.

    The TN government has indulged in a number of activities to manage the drinking water crisis. In this situation, Rs 23,372 crore has been allocated to provide drinking water in Tamil Nadu, according to Municipal Administration Minister S.P.Velumani.

    CM Edappadi K. Palaniswamy will be holding a meeting on Monday to discuss this issue. The meeting is expected to begin at around 11.45 am in the head office. Senior ministers and chief secretary are said to take part in the meeting.
