VCK chief says all kings supported Sanathana forces

Addressing reporters at Chennai airport, Thirumavalavan said, “Not only Raja Raja Cholan, but all the kings who ruled Tamil Nadu supported Sanskrit and patronised Sanathana Dharma forces. We blindly glorify the kings but failed tocriticise their failures.”

Recently, Ranjith in a function criticised Raja Raja Cholan by claiming that the king’s rule had caste systems thriving actively and the statement faced several criticisms across the state. Tamil parties lambasted Ranjith for his comments, but VCK supported Ranjith’s statement claiming that not just Raja Raja Cholan but all the kings patronised caste system and placed Sanskrit above Tamil.

he said, “Pallavas were the first to throw Tamil away from the Sanctum Sanctorum of the temples and they introduced Sanskrit into the temples. Now, Sanathana Dharma forces are dominating the Tamil society due to the mistake of the Tamil Kings and these forces were responsible for the degradation of Tamil culture.”
