State BJP leaders hopeful of Cabinet expansion to include TN MPs

Addressing reporters, after returning from Delhi, Ganesan said, “The ministry formed by Modi is not the final one and it can be expanded to accommodate more representatives in the future. More time is required to fill the requirements.”

Nearly, 150 BJP functionaries, including Tamilisai and Ganesan participated in the swearing-in ceremony of Modi in Delhi, on Thursday. After participating in the function, Ganesan said that it is not true to say that there are no representatives from Tamil Nadu in the ministry as two Ministers Nirmala Sitharaman and Jaishankar, are from Tamil Nadu.

When asked why there was no representation for the AIADMK, he replied that he was not sure whether AIADMK party high command submitted any request to BJP demanding Ministry and was not sure about the talks held between the top leaders of the AIADMK and the BJP.

When asked the reason for giving a post of Ministry of State to Kerala where the BJP has no elected representative, Ganesan replied that it was the discretion of the party and moreover, V Muraleedharan, who was given the berth in the ministry is the state president of the party.

BJP state unit president Tamilisai also said that many more chances will come and new MPs will be inducted in the ministry. The ministry, headed by Modi, will develop the country and many new developmental schemes would be implemented in the state.

She also said that if Tamil Nadu elects more MPs from their party, the representation will increase in theministry.
