Schools in Pondy to open on June 10
The territorial government has extended the reopening of all schools in the Union Territory after summer holidays by one week in the wake of the scorching heat condition prevailing here.

Chief Minister V Narayanasamy in a release here on Friday said that the government had received several requests in this regard from different quarters and based on that the reopening of the schools was fixed on June 10 instead of June 3.
Orders in this regard would be issued soon, he said.It may be recalled that neighbouring Tamil Nadu government refused to change the school reopening date from June 3, despite similar demands made by various organisations in the state.
