    Parthasarathy appointed VC of Tamil Nadu Open University

    Governor Banwarilal Purohit on Friday appointed K Parthasarathy as Vice-Chancellor of Tamil Nadu Open University, Chennai, for a period of three years with effect from the date of his assumption of office.

    Parthasarathy has long years of teaching experience has been a professor at the Bharathidasan University for more than 22 years. His specialisation in the field of Androgogy gives him a unique understanding of teaching methods to be followed in an Open University.


    He has a wide administrative experience of more than 23 years in various capacities as professor and head of department, dean of faculty and director at Bharathidasan University. 


    Parthasarathy was also the founder director of Institute for Entrepreneurship and Career Development (IECD) in Bharathidasan University.


    Having been a member of Board of Studies in Bharathidasan University, Annamalai University, Barathiyar University, University of Madras and various other universities and having served as a member in the Academic Councils, Executive Council and Planning Board of Bharathidasan University Parthasarathy is familiar with the Universityadministration.


    Further, as a teacher, he has been involved in the introduction of 117 new courses and formulation of innovative academic programmes such as Rural Technology and Trouble Shooting and Maintenance of Electrical and Electronics Equipment. Having guided 17 Ph.D. research scholars and with 24 research papers and 8 books to his credit, Parthasarathy is having rich experience in the area of promoting research.
