To prove one's fealty, he/she usually pledges allegiance till death. But in a rare case one pledges allegiance by killing a transgressor, who happens to be his nephew.
Santhosh Kumar is a resident of Coimbatore's Veerakeralam. He belonged to the same regional party as his uncle Vijayakumar. When Santhosh with his confidantes switched to BJP six months ago, the rift developed between him and his uncle. There had been minor scuffles between these groups since then.
On May 26, three days after BJP's astounding victory, Santhosh was riding his bike through the Veerakeralam municipal office where he was apprehended by armed men who stabbed him to death.
Vijaykumar and also his wife Madhu and son Karnaprasad for conniving, surrendered at the Coimbatore Criminal Court of Arbitration. They were taken custody under judicial remand till June 11.
