TN has missed opportunity, DMK will stage walkout from LS from now: Tamilisai
BJP State President Dr Tamilisai Soundararajan on Thursday said that the people of Tamil Nadu have committed a mistake by not electing “non-corrupt” in the Lok Sabha polls in the State.

Referring to DMK-led Front’s massive win in the parliamentary elections, Tamilisai, who is on the verge of losing to DMK’s Rajya Sabha member Kanimozhi in Thoothukudi Lok Sabha constituency, told reporters that, “If someone without any corruption charges and selfishness is coming to you (people) and got elected, then they (people) would get more benefits.”
“People should not forget the past. They (people) have elected the same corrupt people again,” she said on DMK-led alliance winning 37 of the 38 seats, for which elections were held.
“We will do a soul searching to find out why we (BJP) are not able to get the people’s support,” she said. Reacting to the DMK-led Secular Progressive Alliance win, she said, “It is a useless victory.”
“Those who were staging walkouts in the State assembly will hereafter stage walk outs in Parliament,” she said.
“The BJP worked very hard, but we could not able to win people’s confidence. The right to get more and more projects from the Centre for Tamil Nadu by people like us was denied,” she added.
“Had (people) they given opportunity for us, we would have got berth in the Central cabinet and bring in more welfare projects for the State,” she added. On the ruling AIADMK’s victory in by-elections to assembly constituencies, Tamilisai said she is very happy that the people had voted for the AIADMK government led by Edappadi K Palaniswami to ensure its stability.
