Scholarship for parentless students

Through scholarship programme, the organisation provides scholarship exclusively to single parented and parentless students in Chennai, who are financially poor, good at academics and are willing to do graduation.

Team Everest has helped more than 400 college students so far and 191 students are part of the scholarship currently. In 2019, Team Everest will sponsor 200 students for their UG degree.

The Scholarship includes financial support up to Rs 30,000 towards college fees, transportation fees, exam fees, hostel fees, Mess fees and book fees. In addition, Skill Development of 100 hours of training for selected scholars every year to enhance their skills so that they become employable when they finish graduation.

For internship, the scholars would be given various Internship opportunities with various corporates, Startups to get industry exposure and develop their skills.

Similarly, for volunteers, the students need to clock 20 hours a year doing community work. This is to expose the students to different challenges the society is facing and to help them find solutions for the same.

The students eligible for the scholarship are those candidates who have scored more than 60% in Class 12 exams, parentless or single parented, the student should have lost both their parent or at least one of them because of death or other reasons. The students whose parent are alive but got separated are also eligible for the scholarship.

Likewise, the applicant should be from government or government aided or Corporation schools or any free schools in Chennai. Private school students with Class 12 fees less than Rs 20,000 a year or studied with the help of a sponsor is also eligible for this scholarship.
