Coimbatore trader arrested over Rs 42 lakhs fraud in online trade

Trader Gopi (38) of Coimbatore's Papanayakkampalayam is the customer of Rajasthan's Sumit Gupta. Sumit Gupta is an online trader, to whom Gopi orders rice. Gopi has been evasive in making payments hence he is jailed. The hunt is on for his wife Devi and Gopi's manager Santhosh, for their connivance.

Gopi ordered rice for Rs 50,43,000 and paid Rs 8,10,000 in advance. But, after delivery Gopi was dilatory and evasive. Sumit Gupta instructed his Coimbatore manager Krishnakumar Mehta to handle the matter. Gopi grew hostile to the extent of giving death threats to Krishnakumar Mehta. Mehta then took it to the police and Gopi was booked and jailed.
