Despite a relay struggle for obtaining permission for Stalin’s rally on the final day, the DMK candidate V Senthil Balaji could get the nod only around 2 am on Friday. The Returning Officer was not ready to give permission for all the 10 spots requested by the candidate, but the DMK cadre led by Senthil Balaji staged a series of protests, including a sit in protest in the office of the Returning Officer.

On Friday, Stalin preferred to campaign from the morning itself and almost in all the spots he spoke of change in the government. This has been major point right from the beginning of the campaign from Tiruvarur where he sentimentally commenced his political rally.

“Vote for Senthil Balaji to send Edappadi K Palaniswami home as you have opted to vote for the Congress candidate S Jothimani in the Lok Sabha polls and it is the much needed requirement for the benefit of the people of Tamil Nadu,” Stalin said at Thadakovil of Pungampadi Melpagam Panchayat.

“Palaniswami has been charging that I have been conspiring to remove him from the post. I don’t need to do this, but he would prefer to go home after May 23, the counting date as the AIADMK will certainly lose and the DMK will emerge victorious in all the 22 Assembly seats,” Stalin reiterated.

Stating that the present election is about bringing in a change in the state, Stalin said, only DMK can bring development to the people of Tamil Nadu. “We would certainly establish, your long pending demands like, government arts and science College, cold storage unit for the drumsticks and the Cauvery Combined drinking water supply scheme (CWCC),” Stalin said and added that the three cent free land scheme which was announced by the DMK candidate Senthil Balaji would be expanded across the state once the DMK forms government.
