He also demanded Rs 100 crore as damages from the publication for publishing the “offending article” against him.

In his notice sent through his lawyer Richard Wilson, Stalin said the printer, publisher and editors of the magazine should tender an unconditional public apology for bringing out the aforesaid offending articles and publish the same in all leading newspaper within 24 hours of receipt of the notice.

Stalin has also demanded the retraction of the “offending articles” in the next edition of the magazine, on the website and publish the retraction conspicuously in the same size and prominent as the offending article.

Threatening to initiate appropriate civil and criminal proceedings in the event of the publication failing to fulfil the conditions laid down by him, the DMK president who is also the Leader of Opposition said the offending article has been brought out to favour the parties opposed to the DMK alliance and the publication has played into the hands of certain vested interests working to further the electoral prospects of the alliance opposed to the DMK.

The legal notice also said that he would sue for higher damages once the full extent of the damage caused by the offending article was ascertained. Alleging that the publication was being used as an instrument of “vested interests who are running scared in the face of their impending loss,” the notice also called for disclosing the name of the reporter who has brought out the defamatory, false and concocted article against Stalin with the intention to tarnish and scandalise him.
