Gang murders youth in broad daylight in Tiruchy
A gang of three murdered a 24-year-old AMMK functionary in full public view near Mela Kalkandarkottai in Tiruchy on Tuesday.

Sources said K Javed Hussain, a resident of Mela Kalkandarkottai and a functionary of the AMMK minority wing, was on his way to a shop, when he was intercepted by the gang.
An heated argument broke out between them following which the gang thrashed Javed. As the trio took out sharp weapons, Javed started running.
On seeing him escaping from the spot, the trio chased Javed. In evading their attack Javed hid himself inside a milk dispensary shop in the locality. However, the trio caught Javed and assaulted him with their sickles. Even though Javed fell unconscious in a pool of blood after sustaining multiple cut injuries.
Subsequently, Javed died on the spot. Due to the repeated slashing, one of his arms was chopped off from the body.
After ensuring that he was dead, the trio fled the scene. On receiving information, Ponmalai police rushed to the spot, recovered the body and sent it to post-mortem.
Deputy Commissioner of Police (Law and Order) N S Nisha and Cantonment Assistant Commissioner Manikandan conducted inquiries. Police have been examining the CCTV footage from the milk dispensary shop.
The motive behind the murder is yet to be known. Ponmalai Golden Rock police have launcheda probe into the incident, sources added.
