Chief Minister blames DMK for Jaya’s stress, death
It was the DMK, which exerted pressure and caused mental stress to former Chief Minister and AIADMK supremo J Jayalalithaa which ultimately led to her death, claimed Chief Minister Edappadi K Palaniswami during his campaign at Ottapidaram on Tuesday.
Madurai
Jayalalithaa was under stress after she spent days in prison in a case filed by the DMK against her and hospitalised during her last stage before death, Chief Minister Edappadi K Palaniswami said while campaigning for AIADMK candidate P Mohan.
During his campaign at Mappillaioorani under the constituency limits in Thoothukudi district, the Chief Minister said leaders of AIADMK, including former chief ministers MG Ramachandran and Jayalalithaa lived and died for the people unlike DMK leaders, who were concerned only about their families and positions. Attacking the DMK for dynasty politics, he said, without taking pains, Stalin, son of M Karunanidhi, former president of the party, entered politics under the influence of his father and now Stalin’s son Udhayanithi had followed suit.
Terming the former MLA as a betrayer for joining hands with TTV Dhinakaran, the Chief Minister appealed to the people to teach a fitting lesson in the bypoll.
During elections in 2016, TTV Dhinakaran, who’s currently AMMK general secretary, was not even an ordinary member of AIADMK, he recalled.
Taking a dig at DMK president Stalin, the CM said, “Without even knowing the facts, Stalin was making false allegations against the AIADMK MLAs and it has become his hobby too.”
