Thanjavur Palace has poor security
An officer from the TN Security CID branch who inspected the security arrangements at key locations, including Thanajvur Palace and Saraswathi Mahal, on Monday expressed dissatisfaction over the arrangements and noted that several CCTV cameras were defunct.

 In the wake of the blasts in Sri Lanka, several locations have been brought under close vigil and a team have been deputed to inspect the security arrangements.
As part of the review, the personnel on Friday inspected the arrangements at the Big Temple and found several lapses. DSP Viswanathan who led the team conducted a review meeting with the temple staff and the ASI officials.
Meanwhile, a team led by the Inspector Nagarajan visited the Thanjavur Palace complex and Saraswati Mahal library on Monday. They collected details of the CCTV cameras fixed in the complex, control rooms and lighting arrangements in the complex. The team also surveyed potential spots for additional CCTV cameras and lights.
