Prakash Raj, in his tweet said, “I never said that. It’s deliberately misquoted with bad intentions. Shame on those who stoop to this level.” The tweet came after he was bombarded with questions onsocial media.

Recently, Delhi Chief Minister, Arvind Kejriwal, in his campaign, said that more than 500 Tamil students are getting admitted in DU and they are taking away the opportunities of Delhi students. If AAP is voted to power again they will change the scenario.

The statement of Kejriwal created various controversies as students of Tamil Nadu claimed that Kejriwal is creating a divide among students and then filed a complaint with Delhi police. The students claimed that they enter the university only through merit and comments of Kejriwal had put them under threat.

Kejriwal’s comments were also widely criticised by Tamil Nadu politicians. Chief Minister Edappadi K Palaniswami and BJP state unit president Tamilisai Soundararajan, condemned Kejriwal for his comments.

In the meantime, Prakash Raj, who is contesting from Bengaluru Central Constituency, went to Delhi to campaign for AAP candidates to thank Kejriwal, who campaigned for him in Bengaluru.

In one of the campaigns, when Prakash Raj was asked about the comments of Kejriwal on admission of students of Tamil Nadu in Delhi University, Prakash had allegedly justified his comments by saying that Kejriwal was right in his statement.

When asked further that he had acted in so many Tamil films and now he is speaking against Tamil Nadu students, he replied that he does not belong to Tamil Nadu and he was from Karnataka.

His comments and replies were widely criticised on social media. Twitterati claimed that Prakash Raj had exposed himself. Twitter users asked Tamil media to expose the true colour of Praksh Raj.

When film producer and critic, BOFTA Dr Dhananjayan questioned Prakash Raj about his statement, the actor replied that he did not mean what he said and his words were misquoted.
