Perambalur audio tape: Lawyer Arul's office staff arrested

The rumours of Perambalur AIADMK leaders sexually harassing college girls has been taking rounds on the social media. It was lawyer Arul of Naam Tamilar party who exposed the audio tape of the victim. The all-women police force too on this premise begun its investigation.

However, the Perumbalur Lawyers Welfare Association and the women wing of AIADMK lodged a prevention of atrocities case against Arul for providing an unsubstantial audio tape. Arul was sent to Trichy Central Jail on judicial-remand till May 14 as ordered by Judge Vijayakanth in the Perambalur Mahila Court.

Arul asserted that the CCTV cameras in the five star hotel, where the sexual harassment took place was removed. Only taking notice of these footages could ensure a fair trail.

Arul said that the police are working against him under the false promises of some, and that he will furnish more details on the case if he is out on bail. Meanwhile, Arul's office staff Kalaiarasi A.K.A Kala (25) was questioned under the suspicion of her voice, which is suspected to be matching with the one in the audio tape. She is believed to have conspired with Arul. She was arrested under the IT act and was presented before Judge Ashok Prasad in Perambalur Criminal Court. Now she is in Trichy Women's Jail on a 15-day remand.
