Woman in EVM room, CPM cries foul

The candidate was informed that a woman had taken out some documents from the strong room. Thereafter, he had also informed Madurai Collector S Natarajan and sought necessary action.

Sources said the Collector was baffled at this and said the candidate must be allowed to check it as each and every EVM was under the security of CCTV surveillance. However, the Collector denied this and said all EVMs were kept in strong rooms at Madurai Government Medical College.The sealed EVMs were brought under three-tier security system in the strong room. However, other sources said a woman tahsildar allegedly took away statutory document to take a photocopy of it.

Since the official did not execute the task properly, she took away the document to take a photo copy of it without informing top officials, sources said.
