Thunderstorm in interior regions expected in 48 hrs
The sweltering heat that is being experienced in various parts of Tamil Nadu is like to go down in a few days, with the Regional Meteorological Centre predicting a thunderstorm in the next 48 hours. The weathermen have said that thunderstorm with gusty winds and lightning is likely to occur at isolated places over Tamil Nadu on Wednesday and Thursday.

However, the heat wave would continue in the city with the sky condition likely to be partly cloudy during morning, mainly clear thereafter. Maximum and Minimum temperatures are likely to be around 36 degree Celsius and 27 degree Celsius respectively.
According to weather blogger Pradeep John, the thunderstorm season would kick off in interior and Southern Tamil Nadu from April 18th. Meanwhile, several interior districts witnessed high temperatures in the State. Maximum temperature is likely to be above normal by 2-4 degree Celsius at a few places over Tamil Nadu. Tiruvallur, Kancheepuram, Vellore, Thiruvannamalai, Dharmapuri, Salem, Namakkal, Karur, Tiruchirapalli, Perambalur, Tiruppur, Dindigul and Madurai districts are likely to witness higher temperatures for next 24 hours, said RMC officials.
On Monday, Karur and Madurai recorded a highest temperature of 41 degree Celsius, while Vellore, Salem, Tiruttani and Tiruchirapalli recorded 40.0 degree Celsius, 40.2 degree Celsius, 40.5 degree Celsius and 40.5 degree Celsius respectively.
