Partially-burnt body identified
The partially burnt body of a 13-year-old boy, which was found on the bank of an irrigation tank at Vettavalam near Tiruvannamalai a day ago, was identified on Saturday. After matching fingerprints, police said the boy was Selvam (13), son of Raja of Aavur.

A case was registered and police are investigating whether the Class 8 student was murdered or if he committed suicide. On Friday, passers-by had noticed smoke emanating from the irrigation tank. When they went there to check, thepeople were shocked at the sight of a boy’s body smouldering. They immediately informed the Vettavalam police who rushed to the spot with a police dog and fingerprint experts.
