The US Consulate is holding a dedicated visa application session for students on June 12, announced May. “There are more than a million foreign students in the United States and nearly 2,00,000 of them are from India. I encourage everyone considering studying abroad to think about applying to a college or university in the United States,” he said.
The launch was followed by an information session with a group of students and their families who are considering to study in the US. Christine Saclarides, Vice-Consul and Maya Sundararajan, Regional Officer, United States India Educational Foundation (USIEF) also addressed the students and parents during an interactive session on student visa application process.
Christine Saclarides, Vice-Consul said that students can work with one of the seven EducationUSA advising centers across India. EducationUSA can help students find US institutions that are best fit to meet their educational goals and provide guidance and resources to put together a strong application.
The US Consulate offers pre-departure orientation for all the students who are applying at universities and colleges in the United States to brief the students about important aspects of their schooling life in the US. The pre-departure orientation will be held this year on July 12.
