Many AMMK candidates are criminals: Minister Rajenthra Balaji

Except for a few, most of the AMMK candidates contesting the elections are criminals, is the latest shot of Minister KT Rajenthra Balaji.

Speaking to reporters in Virudhunagar on Wednesday, he referred to the issue involving K Kathirkamu, former Periyakulam MLA, who has been charged with rape.

Bhalaji said Kathirkamu, who was facing several other charges, and Theni candidate Thanga Tamilselvan never knew the difficulties of common man since they enjoyed a luxurious life. But the AIADMK was formed for welfare of the poor. He said that once the poll was over, action would be taken action against those AMMK cadre who wear AIADMK dhotis

Regarding the poll battle, the Minister said that the April 18 encounters was only between the traditional rivals AIADMK and DMK, and AMMK was only an independent and nowhere in the race. “Some AIADMK loyalists, who realised their mistakes, are returning to the party fold and it will continue,” he said and made it clear that the AIADMK would never admit Dhinakaran back into its fold.

Charing that leaders of DK and DMK were making blasphemous remarks, he cautioned the main opposition party against taking an anti-Hindu stand like Dravidar Kazhagam.

On JACTTO–GEO’s support to the DMK, he said that only some top functionaries, who were retirees, said they would support the DMK, but not all members of the organisation.
