CSK action figures sell like hotcakes post IPL show

These six-inch figurines are dressed in the bright yellow CSK jersey, stand on bases with autographs from the star cricketers and come with three pairs of interchangeable hands, a pair of batting pads, a bat and ball.

A limited edition collection produced by Vizag-based LilliputHub, the merchandising partner of Chennai Super Kings, is available for Rs 999 in toy stores and online. Bulk orders of above 24 figurines will get a discount of 20 per cent when ordered directly from the merchandiser.

On Amazon, the Dhoni figurine ranks at number 6 in toy figurines, while Raina and Jadeja rank at 148 and 424 respectively. Uday Bhaskar, a representative from LilliputHub, said, “The MSD figurine is most popular because of his wide fan base. It is not limited to Tamil Nadu. He has many admirers across all States in the country.

“It’s been a month since we launched the figurines, but we are getting an outpour of orders. On placing the order, it will be delivered in 2-6 business days based on the pin code. They will be available for the next four months,” he added.

“Since the material is PVC and not plastic, the toy can be positioned in different stances like batting, bowling or my favourite -- as a wicketkeeper. It’s really good quality,” said Selvi T, a cricket enthusiast.
