Stalin’s criticism can’t be tolerated as he has exceeded limits: Palaniswami
Hitting out at DMK president M K Stalin, Chief Minister Edappadi K Palaniswami on Sunday said the former was talking irresponsibly during his poll campaign by targeting Prime Minister Narendra Modi, himself and leaders of parties in alliance with the AIADMK.

Canvassing for the PMK Dindigul Lok Sabha candidate Jothimuthu, the Chief Minister said Stalin’s criticism could not be tolerated as he had exceeded the limits. Refuting Stalin’s claim which linked his name with the Kodanad case, Palaniswami said it was a drama enacted by the DMK leader to cause harm to theruling party.
“It was the AIADMK government that initially detected the case and arrested two criminals, who were hired by the DMK. They were accused of human trafficking, sexual abuse, drug trafficking and robbery, but Stalin helped to get these criminalsout on bail.”
Further criticising the DMK, the CM said, “The DMK promotes family politics to enjoy power, but is seldom bothered about the people. The public is unable to accept the promises made by the DMK in its manifesto.”
He also said the AIADMK would take up the case of Sadiq Basha, a close aide of DMK leader and former Union Telecom Minister A Raja, who died under mysterious circumstance while the CBI was probing the 2G spectrum case and bring the guilty to justice. Efforts would be taken to include the Christian Vanniyars in the most backward category and the Christian Adi Dravidars in the scheduled caste list, Palaniswami added.
Campaigning for M Thambidurai, the AIADMK candidate for Karur Lok Sabha constituency, at Vedasanthur, the Chief Minister criticised senior Congress leader P Chidambaram for not bringing adequate funds to Tamil Nadu during his tenure as Union Finance Minister despite hailing from the state
Palaniswami denied Stalin’s claim of deteriorating law and order situation in TN, saying the state leads the nationwide chart in maintaining it.
“Ahead of his campaign in Madurai, Stalin walked leisurely in morning without any fear. This show there is good law and order. When the DMK was in power during 2006-2011, Stalin could not even enter Madurai,” he said.
He also said that Tamil Nadu had attained self-sufficiency in power generation during the AIADMK regime. “People experienced hardship during the DMK government due to frequent power cuts. But, the situationimproved only when J Jayalalithaa was elected as Chief Minister,”Palaniswami said.
