Cong trying to capture power via backdoor, says Rajnath Singh
Hitting out at the Congress-DMK alliance hard, Home Minister Rajnath Singh recalled the Congress act of dissolving DMK governments thrice in the past.

Campaigning for the AIADMK candidate Raj Sathyan in Madurai on Sunday, Rajnath Singh called the Congress party a sinking ship without leadership. He also accused the party of trying to capture power through the backdoor by forming an alliance with the DMK even after being chased away by the people of Tamil Nadu long ago.
The Home Minister said, “It was the Congress which dissolved M Karunanidhi-led DMK government thrice, but the same party entered into an alliance with the DMK this time with the idea of coming to power. But, PM Narendra Modi will certainly emerge victorious defeating the Congress front.”
Comparing the growth of the nation under the Congress rule and BJP, Rajnath Singh said India stood ninth among developing nations when Congress was in power, but now it has moved ahead to the sixth spot under Modi’s regime. “It will reach the third spot soon and be next to US and China,” he added.
Listing out the achievements of the Modi government, the Home Minister said housing facilities and gas cylinder facilities would be made available to all people in India within 2022.
“Unlike the Congress party, which saw most of itsleaders either in jail or bail, the BJP delivered acorruption-less government,” he noted.
Hailing the Balakot retaliation, he said India as emerged stronger as it demolished militant camps in Pakistan in just 15 days after the Pulwama terror attack. He blamed the Opposition doubting it. “While Pakistan was denying the Indian airstrike that destroyed F-16 fighter jets, America’s Pentagon has condemned Pakistan’s statement,” he added.
Expressing pride over the big strides made in space technology, the Union Minister said our satellite programme was ranked next to US, China and Russia. He referred to the Defence corridor announcement for the state.
He also promised to revive the handloom sector in Madurai that has almost become defunct. Rajnath Singh further said that all would be extended to 21 per cent of the OBC in Madurai constituency.
