Expose and defeat traitors within party: Kathir Anand

Inaugurating the party’s campaign office at Gudiyattam, Anand urged his supporters to work unitedly to ensure the DMK’s victory in the April 18 elections. Stating that this would teach ‘traitors in the party’ a lesson, he said, “Despite being a force to reckon with, party has traitors within. These individuals are experts in betraying.”

Stating that the “traitors” posed a challenge to DMK’s prospects, Anand said, “The party manifesto has several major promises which will be received well by the electorate. But we will be successful only if we manage to expose and defeat the betrayers.”

Meanwhile, party sources acknowledged challenges from within the party. The needle of suspicion fell even on Duraimurugan’s brother as he had considered himself the political heir to the DMK leader till Anand’s candidature was announced, they said, adding that the activities of certain party functionaries were being closely monitored.
