“Despite the seizure of unaccounted cash there is no action against the DMK. The ECI should probe the cash seized during the I-T raid and freeze all the bank accounts and bank lockers of DMK treasurer Duraimurugan and Kathir Anand,” the petition submitted by the AIADMK said.
Minister D Jayakumar who attended the all-party meeting in his complaint also submitted that the AIADMK had so far filed 13 complaints with the poll officials in connection with the violation of Model Code of Conduct. In case of Perambur by poll, both the DMK and the AMMK candidates failed to complete the nomination papers, and there were blank columns in Form 26. This was raised during the scrutiny but there was no action from the returning officer, the petition said.
The AIADMK and the BJP also demanded additional paramilitary forces on the day of polling and demanded CCTV coverage for all the polling stations in the State.
The BJP in a representation demanded additional security for its party candidates in TN. “Stones and bottles are hurled at BJP candidate by extremists and there is a need for enhanced protection to our candidates,” BJP state convenorThirumalaisamy said.
