DMK president M K Stalin on Tuesday questioned the silence of Chief Minister Edappadi K Palaniswami in the Kodanad heist-cum-murder case.

Speaking at a public meeting in Mettupalayam, Stalin said, “I am raising the Kodanad issue in all public meetings, but the CM continues to remain silent. Instead, he moved the court to restrain me from speaking on the issue. I will speak about it in more detail from now.” He said a CBI probe will be ordered in the case once his party comes to power.
Referring to the Pollachi sex scandal, the DMK leader accused the AIADMK government of trying to safeguard the children of Deputy Speaker Pollachi Jayaraman despite video evidence proving their involvement in the case.
Taking a dig at Deputy Chief Minister O Panneerselvam, Stalin said he (OPS) was the first to claim that the death of former CM J Jayalalithaa was not natural and asked for a CBI inquiry into it. “However, after becoming the Deputy CM with the interference of PM Narendra Modi, he conveniently forgot the issue,” he said.
Slamming the CM and his deputy for criticising the DMK and the Congress in their campaigns, Stalin said, “They never speak of their government’s achievements as they have not done anything.”
Crediting former Union Telecom Minister and DMK candidate for the Nilgiris LS seat A Raja for widespread penetration of mobile phones, Stalin said Raja was falsely accused in the 2G spectrum case, which forced him to step down. “But he faced the case courageously and proved that he was innocent,” he said.
Stating that the fascist BJP and corrupt AIADMK should go, Stalin exuded confidence that Rahul Gandhi will become the next Prime Minister. Earlier, the DMK leader visited and consoled the family of the seven-year-old girl, who was raped and murdered in Coimbatore.
