GUVI is an online technical learning platform that has been started as a YouTube channel for sharing technical learnings.

While the traditional interviewing process provide only limited space for students to portray their versatility, GUVI Community Conference gives them the opportunity to showcase their skills including coding skills, problem-solving, design thinking, and fool proof system building, in a week’s time.

Instead of the time-constrained interviews, the students can come up with solutions to a problem shared by the recruiter or technology company in a week and present solutions for the companies during the GUVI Conference.

The training offered by GUVI enables students to become ‘job-ready’ in six weeks. Sridevi Arunprakash of GUVI, said, “This will be a unique opportunity for students to get first-hand knowledge about the expectations of the industry. This is a whole new approach for the recruitment process and can get the students exposed to the industry.” Companies prefer these resources since certain projects do not require urgent completion, added a source.

She added that this was a breakthrough in recruitment process since the whole recruitment model would be revamped if the students are recruited through this process and do extraordinarily well in the companies they get placed.

According to her, GUVI is already working with more than 52 top colleges in Tamil Nadu including Anna University, IIT Madras, Saveetha School of Engineering (Chennai), Jeppiar Group of Colleges (Chennai), KCT and Sri Ramakrishna Institute of Technology (Coimbatore), Nanda Educational Group of Institutions (Erode), Mohammed Sathak Group of Institutions (Chennai and Keelakarai), among others.

GUVI has mentored and placed more than 5,000 candidates in corporate firms and start-ups, she said.
