EPS to Udayanidhi: Your age is less than my political experience
Chief Minister Edappadi K Palaniswami, who campaigned for DMDK’s Tiruchy candidate Dr V Elangovan, warned Udayanidhi Stalin that his age was less than his (Palaniswami’s) political experience and added that the Opposition Leader’s son was criticising the state government since the DMK was craving for power.

Addressing workers in Tiruchy, the CM said, the government was on a progressive march in the path shown by the late chief minister J Jayalalithaa. “We introduced several welfare schemes to the people over the past couple of years and for Tiruchy, the state government has been extending full support for the runway expansion.”
In the recent Global Investors Meet over 300 MoUs were signed with major companies for industrial development of the state and these pacts would create several lakhs of job opportunities for the youngsters.
Making a scathing attack on DMK president MK Stalin’s son Udayanidhi Stalin, who had been attacking the state government vehemently for the past few days in the election campaign, the Chief Minister said that Udayanidhi’s age was less than his tenure in politics and chose words carefully and get thorough knowledge about facts.
Palaniswami assured that the scheme of providing Rs 2,000 for people below poverty line would resume after the elections. “The scheme has been temporarily stopped following a complaint filed by the DMK citing violation of model code of conduct as reason,” he said.
While campaigning in Pudukkottai, the AIADMK co-coordinators said that he was always ready to respond to any criticism made by the DMK president MK Stalin.
It may be noted that Stalin had commented that Chief Minister was an earthworm which crawled to the feet of Sasikala at Koovathur and got the Chief Minister post. To this Palaniswami replied that he was an earthworm which use to be the friend of farmers and committed to do good to the farmers, but Stalin was a pest which would destroy the crops.
Youth held for hurling footwear at CM’s convoy in Orathanadu
A 31-year-old AIADMK worker, who reportedly hurled a footwear onto Chief Minister Edappadi K Palaniswami’s campaign van on Sunday night was arrested on Monday after a series of interrogation. While the Chief Minister was campaigning at Orathanadu bus stand in Thanjavur in support of the AIADMK-led alliance candidates, a footwear was hurled at his vehicle five minutes after the commencement of the campaign. Orathanadu AIADMK strongman and deputy coordinator of the party R Vaithilingam and the Thanjavur Lok Sabha TMC candidate NR Nararajan were with him. Fortunately, Vaithilingam prevented the footwear from hitting the Chief Minister and it was lying on the van until the Chief Minister left the place. AIADMK workers caught and manhandled the trouble-maker before handing him over to the Orathanadu police. Police later identified the youth, who was wearing a AIADMK dhoti, as Velmurugan, a catering graduate from Uppundarpatti near Orathanadu. The police grilled Velmurugan till 1.30 pm on Monday and later arrested him. However, the police were tightlipped about the reason given by Velmurugan for hurling the footwear.
