Big ticket plans for Thoothukudi: Tamilisai

After taking stock of arrangements at the venue in Thoothukudi, where BJP president Amit Shah and CM Edappadi K Palaniswami are scheduled to campaign on Tuesday, Tamilisai said, “The pre-poll opinion is in favour of the BJP-led front, which is predicted to win over 300 seats. Prime Minister Narendra Modi will continue to head the Central government.”

She said Tuesday’s campaign event in Pearl City would be a turning point in the political arena. Predicting that the Congress would face a worst defeat since the party fielded its president Rahul Gandhi in two constituencies Amethi and Wayanad, the State BJP leader said, “The Congress should accept its failure. There is no support for the party since Kerala Chief Minister Pinarayi Vijayan has vowed to defeat Rahul. On the other hand, Sitaram Yechury, national general secretary of CPM, has decided to campaign for Rahul. The DMK will also be drubbed in the state.”

When asked about the BJP’s poll manifesto for Thoothukudi constituency, Tamilisai said Thoothukudi would emerge as a major industrial centre. “Major facilities including a trade centre, better roads will be provided. A comprehensive drinking water scheme will also be devised to matching the needs of the district,” she said.
