IT raid in the house of DMK functionary: Cash seized

The Income Tax officials conducted a surprise raid in the house of Srinivasan, a DMK Functionary, in Pallikuppam of Katpadi on Monday.

The IT officials also raided his sister's house which happens to be in the same locality, and were reported to have seized sacks of currency notes hidden in a godown. It was said some important documents were also seized.

Srinivasan was reported to be an confidant of DMK's treasurer Duraimurugan. Earlier, a similar raid was conducted in Duriamurugan's house in Katpadi on March 30. Documents and cash worth Rs10 lakh were seized in that raid.

Duraimurugan's son Kathir Anand is the DMK candidate for upcoming parliamentary election.

DMK leader Stalin who is in Vellore for campaign said these raids will not dampen the spirit of DMK and its followers.
